Access to reliable, affordable care is foundational to resilience. CLF invests in community-led health systems and climate-smart infrastructure that sustain care during crises and every day.

Health access remains limited in rural areas across the Caribbean, leading to a lack of preventive care and delayed diagnosis and treatment—issues further exacerbated during climate-related events. The Caribbean's first solar-powered mobile health clinic brings essential care to underserved and remote communities. Built for both climate resilience and healthcare access, this mobile unit delivers reproductive and primary care, health education, and preventative services—even in times of crisis.
From the Kalinago community in Dominica to Gullah Geechee communities in South Carolina, Indigenous and Afro-Indigenous communities are bringing ancestral healing, food sovereignty, and intergenerational care back to life. These traditions aren’t just history – they’re our collective resilience in action. Our first cohort of Indigenous Health Solutions partners includes healers, farmers, elders, and youth carrying this knowledge forward.

True resilience comes from ensuring hospitals can keep saving lives long after crises end. St. Boniface Hospital's renewable energy and oxygen systems make healthcare more affordable, accessible, and sustainable. They reduce dependence on fragile supply chains and strengthen the entire health network. By sharing resources and training with other hospitals, they're building a healthcare system that can endure disasters, adapt to climate change, and provide dignified, continuous care to Haiti's most vulnerable communities.
After the 2021 earthquake, HEI treated nearly 15,000 survivors, sent mobile clinics to almost 100 rural communities, and performed dozens of specialized surgeries. CLF's support allows the hospital to respond quickly while continuing routine care for thousands more patients. Key Investments:
"Even for our staff, the impact of disaster is deeply personal. We know the work does not end when the headlines fade. Our communities are worth fighting for, and we believe good health is essential for people to reach their full potential."
