We create opportunities for
community-driven innovators
to lead change, working across five interconnected focus areas.
In both the Caribbean and the U.S. South, CLF supports community-driven solutions that strengthen resilience in the face of escalating climate threats.
We fund rapid response efforts when crises hit, while also investing in long-term adaptation, local innovation, and preparedness. Through strategic partnerships, we help scale impact—centering the leadership, knowledge, and vision of communities on the frontlines.
We believe that when women lead, communities and economies thrive.
That’s why we invest in women-led businesses and social enterprises—especially those rooted in culture, climate resilience, and community impact. Our focus is on historically underserved regions, including the Gullah Geechee Corridor and Native American communities, where we’re helping build a data-informed, impact-driven ecosystem of support.
At CLF, creativity is core to how we see and shape change.
Art preserves culture, strengthens community bonds, and sparks imagination for a more just future. We support local artists and cultural initiatives that explore climate, identity, and collective memory—using the arts as a powerful tool for healing, resilience, and systems change.
We view health as a climate strategy.
Across the Caribbean and U.S. South, we invest in expanding care, strengthening Indigenous and community-led health systems, and supporting culturally grounded solutions. By addressing climate change as a public health issue, we aim to advance equity, preserve traditional practices, and ensure communities have the tools to thrive.
Lasting change begins with empowering the next generation, so we invest in education, scholarships, and youth programs to amplify their voices.
We're also exploring the impact of the digital divide and technology in shaping the future of learning.
CLF’s work spans the Caribbean, East Africa and the U.S. South, with an approach that starts with and invests in the people who call these regions home.
